An early review of what I played so far

  • Soo... So far at Candis City, so I decided to share a little review of what I found good and bad in the Early-game.

Firstly, about the character I played. Lilly is a AoE attacker, with high crit rate. Considering that most of the time, you'll fight hordes of monsters, she seems like a good choice for soloing the game in. Just be careful in boss battles, as you might find yourself out of SE if you're not managing it well. Her personality is also very good- aloof, kinda jerkish at times, but She does care, she just hides it under her insanity and a bit of her dark past.

With regards to gameplay, it's your Diablo- hack'n'slash type of game. Fight through the ever-more tougher dungeons with bosses at the end of each one. Bosses that are a big plus of this game.(with exception of that one stupid Boss... *Sigh) Each of them requires strategy, good timely dodges and some healing potions should you get hit. Don't be afraid to heal often, dying should be avoided at any and all costs, as if you don't posses a revival Item, you're done. With regards to leveling... It could have been done better. I have no complaints overall, but still... Unneccesary grind should be avoided, and it's better to lock a main quest until you are able to finish it, rather then telling you to go somewhere you can't.

Also on minus, the difficulty curve could be a bit better. Some really hard bosses happen early on in the areas, where later ones are not a challenge.

Most, if not all the areas I played thus far can be completed solo. On normal that is. Higher difficulty requires Either a lvl up, being a really good player or a party.

I like the upgrade system, even if RNG can be an annoyance sometimes. Same with crafting, albeit parts jutro to create pieces of clothing are absurdal, as well as the prizes of them on the market: You're nuts, right?

I haven't really tested the Social part of the game, as I look for a gulid.

That's all for my quickie review. Any disscution will make me happy. :)

  • After trying all the characters I say Lily is either the worst or tied for last place with Erwin. She starts out with superior AoE on her normal attacks and mediocre skills. However once you progress far enough both Haru and Stella surpass her. Haru does so at about early-mid Candus while Stella takes until early Grace City.

I agree with the bosses, some early ones are a lot harder the later ones. The boss later on don't even actively chase you, they rather use at teleport attack or just spam AoEs. The games get more mechanically difficult then just damage being high. That's a good thing, very good even.

Upgrades are typical KR cash grap. Unfortunate, but not very surprising.

I accually like playing as Lilly, despite the potential difficulty later down the line. It makes every victory feel that much more meaningful. Sides, she's cute and badass. :)

I think that really depends on the person's playstyle. I, for instance, love Lilly's playstyle and absolutely despise Erwin. To each their own.

  • I can agree there. Erwin, while a ranged attacker, doesn't seem to possess the same damage capablities.

My play-style with Lilly is to get as many monsters from the horde as possibile away from the party and crush them, then dealing with the stronger enemies. At least, in the party Play, that is.

  • I tend to pretty much exclusively play in a group, so I try and group up the enemies so everybody can hit them together. Pulling enemies away from the party is why I hear a lot of people complain about partying with Lily so I try to avoid doing that if possible.

  • Well, I Play solo for the most part, so I really can't give much of an opinion on that.

  • oh... I see... So I have been playing wrong.

Well, I Play mostly solo regardless, as not many want to join the team with me. But hey, thanks, that Advice might be useful someday. :)

  • naaw your fine. hell like i said i didnt know any better either. Its like like in this game people are looking at an item level or the skills you picked. Just have fun like you always do. And when you see teams in chat looking for someone to join something you need to run. Simply say "invite." most of the time they do.

Finding a party is not to bad in this game. most to the time that is. But if you enjoy soloing stick with what works for you. Heeey people play the game back they are having fun. Not be cause of how other people play to have fun. So dont think much into it. simply play how you enjoy it.

  • I only play a stella so I can't say much about Lily, but can definitely agree that some of the early bosses could be reworked to be a bit easier, At first I was a little taken aback by the initial difficulty. It's toned down now that I have some ok gear however. I'd also have to agree on the unnecessary grind, I don't really think it adds anything to the game, personally. Coming from BDO I've been burnt out on games that rely on heavy grinding, so I wouldn't mind of that got toned down a little as well. And as for the enchanting, I kind of hate it. I'm ok with the rng, but its the item exploding that drives me nuts lol.

  • Is it just me or people really don't seem to realise how Lily has literally the strongest lv 10 power spike in the game. By level 17 you unlock your full light combo, add orb walking while attacking and you have the ultimate low level character. Her higher levels are a bit more complicated because bossing becomes a lot more methodical and you depend a lot on momentum, whereas the rest of the roster have like infinite skill rotations that they can loop and it feels like they're not being taxed at all for any mistake whatsoever outside of potential cheap damage (poke) that they could receive while room clearning and not be able to efficiently heal back(excluding Stella, obviously, the so called 5 stars difficulty character xD)

Death Scythe -> Okayish, too long execution Power Slash -> Good
Cruel Slash -> Okayish, too long execution
    Leap Attack -> Good
Grim Reaper -> Less useful Arena Rush -> Not very useful
Force Region -> Great Flash Step -> Great
Death Tornado -> Amazing Cross Strike -> Good
Evil Trinity -> Amazing Wind Break -> Amazing
Death Guillotine -> Amazing Blade Shower -> Amazing

Overall Haru has better skills then Lily. In the beginning where you have no good skills Lilys better AoE on her normals is really useful. However, when getting more skills Haru easily overtakes her. Mainly that Lily always has to go melee makes her much worse then Haru. Haru can actually somewhat kite. Not efficiently however. It's also way easier to chain her skills together.

This has noting to two with personal preference, that's just simply how it is.

You can argue Erwin and Lily are on the same level. That means they share 3rd place, which is last. There is no way those two are better then a healer that can kite, has great AoEs and good SA break later on.

  • You do not know the way.

  • While I do see your point objectivly, I would not change my choice regardless. I think this play-style suit me.
