SoulWorker Pay To Play?

  • For the most part subscription (Pay2Play) MMOs don't work (WoW and FF XIV being exceptions I know of in the west). For Buy2Play there are a few and the most common model seems to be Free2Play game type.

I'm not a fan of subscriptions and would prefer Buy2Play if it's has a free trial so that I can get a feel of the game. Free2play seems to have all sorts of problems and not many seem to be successful in the west.

Honestly, I would like if it were buy2play. Subscription really doesn’t sit well with me, but I would be willing to pay an entry fee and would like it since it would help reduce bots and stuff.

  • My experience p2p works as a model if you give options such as PLEX or Bonds like in EVE Online or Runescape, so that end game progression can be rewarded by being able to pay for your subscription with in-game currency, it also gives a lot of value for the game economy and trading. If they would choose a p2p model, they probably have to change the stamina system in that regard. But on my opinion if they make stamina recovery items tradeable it would make the game pretty close to p2p model, and I wouldn't really see it as a bad model, if they give you an option to grind dungeons without earning any EXP but you can still farm for loot that you can potentially sell for a stamina recovery item.

  • Nope I don't want pay to play. Pay to play model is something from the past and only some companies like Square with FF XIV can withstand it. Kr MMO with p2p = Death before arrive.

  • i mean,if its a monthly fee game is generally revoking some freenium stuff like an energy system or big a difficulty spike somewhere in the middle of the game to make you buy some prenium stuff but in SW, i never felt that problem . If it ever gets a monthly tho, it won't be the end of the world because it might lead to some good new stuff

If it stay f2p while having a lot of p2p content its a no no for me

  • I don't really like subscription based mmorpgs, but I'm all for one-time-pay games (Like Overwatch or Black Desert(?)).

It filters out a lot of bots and more people take the game more seriously instead of fucking around, since getting banned has a bigger meaning (because people invested money into the game).

  • I don't think it woud do well because it was designed to be a free game.

The cash shop is designed to get money to sustain the game. also charging a monthly fee in my opinion would hurt more then help.
