Events of the game

  • Hi there!
First thing first, I like the game and appreciate all the people trying hard to deliver the best quality for us gamers. However, in my opinion, events in this game have been, so far, kinda dull. There were 1/2 EP cost and drop rate exp increase events or something like that for a long time now. I don't know if Gameforge is busy releasing new contents or they are running out of ideas for events. Really hope for better events in the future, because as far as I know, MMORPG games that don't have some good events periodically usually fail in long run, and I kinda fall in love with this game's design and gameplay. Wish you all a nice weekend!

    :haru3:

  • I would like to see an event where you can farm items to exchange for a costume or weapon skin etc., and not a time limited one, permanent.

I think they should officially adapt the EP reduction event as a permanent game feature for weekends only and start getting more creative with 'events'. There are a ton of things they could do to get people more hyped.

  • How can you run out of ideas if the game only been out for like two minutes...

I mean granted has their own "wants" and "expectations" from a game that they like. It may just me just being bad but I didn't even get past level 50 yet or get good gear or anything. I'm just enjoying the game as a ride. And games that are native to another country then gets different releases for different areas. Allot of "Events" and Updates all depends on the Mother Server, unless I am wrong. Gameforge can do mini events to keep us occupied but they just cant add everything that people want or what they want. They don't own the game keep that in mind. And major updates arent added all in one go because that is allot of work on translating and testing out bugs. But this is basically what I wanted to say for all posts regarding this topic as a whole. Don't get me wrong, some other things will be nice too. But I'm just giving them a benefit of the doubt and just staying patient. Its only been a month is not two months since the official launch. 60 days looks like allot but it really isn't. Don't get discouraged before things even started.:stella1:

Running out of idea for event when there hasn't been a single actually decent event, GG

  • If you plan out an event in detail, it's more likely to actually make it into the game (e.g. which map, level requirement, what has to be done to qualify for a reward, what is the reward etc.). Especially stuff like "Fight the GM" is something Gameforge should be able to do without having to rely on the developer creating special scripts/NPCs/... for them, so it shouldn't be a huge problem to realise :) Though I don't know how much power GMs in SW have.

Anything that would require Lion Games to create sth new is less likely to be put into the game because Gameforge has to evaluate it, then they can send it to LG, and then they will have to evaluate it, program it, and THEN it might see the light of day. There are much more hurdles though that doesn't mean a well put together event won't make it into the game.

(That's from my experiecen and, well, logic)

  • The Easter event we had a month ago was pretty oki, we could collect eggs doing our daily quests and exchange them for skill resets, respawners and some other items. But after that it has only been exp drop/EP events, I'd like to see more creative ones like that too:stella3:

  • I am pretty sure they are currently concentrating on content rather then events. There are probably a couple they could request, but I rather move forward now and save those for later.

Also consider "GMs" would still be voluntaries. At least that's how it was in the past with GF. Those don't get paid so you can't exactly order them around to be entertainers unless they are willing to do so. To be honest, I don't really see the need for GMs anyway. There is a support ticket system, that should be able to handle most of the requests.

For all their MMOs (except Metin2) GF actually doesn't use voluntaries. GMs = Customer Support Representatives, i.e. paid employees. But yeah, I agree, there's no real need for GMs in the game. Except they make a fun event though I also don't really see what kind of event they could do in SW.

I hate using Elsword as an example, however allot of the Events that the NA/ other servers do tend to follow KR the original. And usually major updates are delayed or 2 weeks behind usually depending on how drastic it is.. And assuming we are wanting events from thin air, They can make Event Dungeons / Raids. With different themes or concept for like a certain period for said time frame. I'm not a scripter or programmer and will never claim to have much knowledge in this area. Event planning if its not the original games / servers event they designed. We are going to be limited to for example, the Easter event with the eggs and what not. I'm pretty sure they are capable of designing their own things for the game as well, but I'm pretty sure they aren't able to add whatever they want without consent. Maybe if allot of people mention something about it they probably can do something to entertain those individuals I guess.

Let's stop here and look at the EU version GF is publishing... They are far, far behind and do way less events. It's also a company with about one game publishing verses one that publishes 20 or more. Realistically speaking, that's not gonna happen.

GF is not creating anything, what probably takes so "long" is localisation, testing, waiting for possible fixes and probably talking. The code should and resources already exist.

  • I can't believe some even say they focus on other things. What year are we living in. Event's should always be here, maybe 1 week downtime before a new starts, but so far we had only the easter event which was pretty average at best.

Coming from a game where players could enter contest and the winners would be made into ingame ones. yea i don't know about all of that. I think it honestly just depends on the relationship with the producers and people managing the game. Sadly the one your speaking of with this game is one of the worst. And im saying that from experience. Inf population goes down they simply just merger servers not try to come up with any ideas.

Nor do they really and truly put fort the effort your talking about with the developers. If its not something that they can do by hand they are not going to bother simple as that. In business they are nothing more than what would be called a reseller. They are not a producer. So there truly is not much incentive for them to even bother in trying to ask for new things. Its far more efficient and easy to simply wait on new things to come out and pick how they wish to charge for it.

After years of seeing how this company operates i have long given up the idea that they will do things fairly or diligently. This game is fairly decent perhaps they will try a little harder. No clue.

  • i want a event for exp to guild

o.O hmmm that would not be bad. however an even that give items to assist in lvling AR cards would be nice also. Or increased drop rate events. There are many options they can take on this one.

  • :!:IMPORTANT: The EP Party event will be from now a permanent weekend event, until further notice. ;)

    :huh::thumbup:

As someone who works full time and spends a lot of time playing soulworker on the weekends compared to the weekdays, I really enjoy seeing this posted.

Could also mean they are looking into giving us more creative events as well but that's just speculation.
