Why no 1 only server?

  • Hello there!

Over the years we ran international servers and also language specific ones and we made the experience that players appreciate if they can play without being distracted by conversations in different languages. We don’t have any cross server matchmaking system for dungeons but you can always choose to start on a different server from your location.

That suck you guys should not make the same mistake that happend with elsword and just do 1 EU server insteand of all of thoses and let you change the idiom in the launcher or ingame for all the traslate idioms

+1 on this, like many have said splitting the serverbase depending on language will only allow for some of the language based servers to become ghost towns after a month, most players will decide to hop on the English speaking server even if they're not natively English as well just for the fact it will have a higher playerbase.

    Thank you for that ;D

  • From my experience, games in this sub-genre as of late have difficulties keeping decent Western playerbase. Assuming that after six weeks of being released into Open Beta, SoulWorker keeps an above average daily player count of 1,500-2,000 individual player log-in, dividing that into the seven different servers.. There are 4 EU servers, 1 Spanish and 2 English. How many people do you think will be in the Polish server when the EU region is split into 4? Eventually I will guess that a lot of players will congregate to one known "popular" server for each region.

I really do agree with this and it sums up my concerns exactly.
Gameforge I hope you guys know what you are doing and I hope you will act fast when you realise some servers are suffering.

Won't it be too late to congregate after release? It's not like they can transfer at will between servers, and rerolling is out of the question, when you already invested in to your characters.
Server merges usually happens very late like 6+ month from release. And the question is, how are they going to merge? Polish in to German? Italian in to French? I would not like for English server to suddenly become the scapegoat for every other language server that ain't making it sometime down the road.

This is the first time i have seen for EU MMO to be divided in to so many language servers. Usually it's just German and French.

But the weirdest past is how come NA is a solo server. What about large French and Spanish speaking population in North America?

    Lmao

Killing it before it's even born.

"Wee yea ra enne ar sar. Wee yea ra enne ar dor"
"Wee yea ra enne ar ciel. Rrha yea ra ieeya en near

"Fou yea ra waath ar ciel, en hymme mea, weel nepo en keen ar sar"

"Rasse, rasse, rasse, rasse, rasee, rasse, en rana!"

  • I think I'd reccommend most people who are gonna play the game alot and especially people looking to play with other people to join the English speaking server, if it never merges and it dies out all that time spent is wasted, it is a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game after all.

Now now, lets not give in to panic and turn English server in to international one. That would turn in to a disaster from the start.

  • Good I believe in case in the future it has few population in some of the servers maybe they merge :/

Yeah, but what about the character names. People will lose their unique names, and that would be a big dissapointement for everyone.

  • I was planning to move to the EN server but i was not really sure about that,now......why the hell i would go to the french server after knowing this

True, but that is if merge occurs anyway I do not think it will be so detrimental initially

I think German and French server will be solid. They always have a lot of players in every MMO, enough to run their own servers.

Nah,i played 2time on a french server (blade and soul/tera) ,both "died" after some time but the international one was still active as fuck

Not going to risk anything with this mmo
