Is a wipe ? (merged topics)

  • I'm okay with having a wipe if there happened to be a game breaking exploit throughout the OBT. If we get a wipe because of such thing i wish we get compensated properly. Not gonna lie, it sucks that the community managers still have no concrete info on what their take on the issue.

  • I mean I won't be happy either but I don't mind leveling again at all and I'm leveling alone because I don't have friends lol.

  • I'm expecting a wipe, just based on how rewards are being handed out.

As for being for or against one.... I don't really care in this instance honestly.

I'm kinda in the same school of thought right now, because with how Soulworker sprung up the way it did, i wasn't aware and missed out on grabbing some usernames i like to hang onto if possible.

So a wipe would help make that a bit more probable. xD

  • The chance we're getting a wipe are low,if it happens it have to be because of technical issues, not because of request

Vote for "NO WIPE" just in case.

I hate making friends and then having to lose them again and then having to find them again, especially when certain people know who you are from other games and try to steal yo name.

Man they follow you everywhere. >;(

  • Only bad to the bad people. I'm also famous in the Warframe community and my big clan and alliance are going to be joining my guild once I make it to level 20 in Soul Worker. = w=

    So no wipe is preferred.

    Yep, probably.

A really good example of a server wipe being needed is if some of the Server Blades overheat and certain critical data on those blades couldn't be backed-up.

Though technicians in this industry usually (Usually) have backup-after-backup-after-backup and then also keep criticals on daily external rotations.

But that's within Paid gaming services where loss of Character data is deemed unexceptionable to a technicians supervisor. xD

In the Free-to-play market, there is very little money funded to the technicians sadly, so stuff happens.

  • At least this game will turn out a lot better than how Revelation Online did. Riiiiight? Riiiiight? ;D

  • >expecting a game to be perfect on launch day of beta

People can't help but feel spoiled

No see i dont think absolutely anyone expected it to run smoothly. Beta stages always have their fk ups regardless of the game or company.

From my experience however in any other company is that they have Never gone and said 'maybe' when it comes to things like state of characters in the game. It would have made so much more sense to have it actually go through CBT, that was skipped in this games case for some reason, which always comes with a 100% character wipe.

Then after w.e issues were found in CBT are fixed and the game is ready for full release you wipe it, staple the OBT label on it and let people indulge in gaming without worrying about wipes.

Literally no game that I have ever joined on release has done a wipe after OBT start, since the game in those is in its final phase of release and open for the public to access.

It just feels a bit lacking in certainty

    hello.

  • I vote for no wipe.

Open beta's are 99% of the time not made to be wiped (I personally NEVER saw a game do that)

You can argue we get ahead in level now compared to people who join later but it will always stay that way.
It's not like this was a closed beta only for the chosen ones, anyone could start at the same date as we did..

If you join later then you have to catch up like in every single mmo.

Agreed. Unless they found an exploit.

So far majority of the community is voting for no wipe.

Oh gosh definitely, i mean i may not know a lot about GameForge, but Souworker itself feels to me like a solid game on it's own; it simply just needs to be cared for and shepherd along and i believe it will do quite well. :)

    I don't want to be a Moderator, it's too much work. D:

EDIT: And nice to see you here Zarozian:)
