    This is messed up on so many levels... GF is rewarding players who left the game and returned instead of rewarding active players with better login bonuses... I can see the good intentions but the logic is awful. By all means have a "Pack for Returnees" but don't give such valuable items in these quantities unless you plan on making them available to active players too in some way. This is really unfair and disappointing.

  • Coudn't open links on browser, so gonna include picture.

    Skill reset ticket resets ONE skill point, it's not Skill TREE reset. Rest of items ain't that big of a game changers, especially books. However considering that there is no way currently to get em for free, i would see why someone would consider this being a bit unfair.

    If daily rewards would include reset tickets in let's say every week after second week and books every two weeks, i dont think anyone would have had much problems with this.

    So maybe we reconsider changing daily login rewards? *wink* *wink*

  • That's really @edit, so people are here struggling, market inflation on many things, unable to get such useful items and gameforge is just giving freebies to people who bailed. It makes sense to give people a reason to come back but seriously gameforge...

    Isn't it more important to keep your current audience happy before attempting to bring people back?
    Fix the damn daily login rewards to keep people happy on certain items, actually address issues your frequent players are telling you, make sure your main players are comfortable and won't go anywhere, THEN work on bringing people back.

    Me thinks you slightly overeacting. Players who don't play don't get anything, welcome back gift for players returning back after month of not playing ain't that' big of a deal. They should rethink login rewards, that would fix whole thing.

    True but at the same time, it seems to me they're putting more effort into drawing new players in instead of satisfying the current playerbase. They should really make the game worth staying for then draw people in, that would improve number permanently not just temporary new players who will quit mid candus-grace

    Eh, tbh these returnee rewards aren't that big of a deal. Compared to other games, they are pretty weak.

    Dragon Nest had a returnee event where they gave returning players a +13 enhance item that directly enhanced any item of your choice to +13. They also gave you one per every char on your account. So people were getting 6-7 of these items and it enraged active players. Due to the fact going from +12-13 was such a huge gamble and very very very few people even had it. Now that is broken returning rewards.

    This? All the stuff given is no where near game breaking and it's more convenience than anything.

  • It's still better than any of the rewards players get for frequently logging in

    :iris1::iris3::iris4::iris2:

  • It is harder to get new players to stay, than it is for active playing players to stay.

    It costs $$ to attract new players. It costs much less for active players.

    Therefore, there must always be a greater incentive for returning players (that quit), than active players.

    Statistically speaking, players who quit (most of the time) never return back to the game. New players are most likely to quit at n+1 days after n days since inception of the game launch. You can see that the majority of players who are still playing have been with this game since inception since this group is the most (hyped) and most (time-invested, money-invested) into the game. The rates for staying for new players are slightly better, when the population stabilizes 1 year later.

    The exception being some subscription games with content update cyclicity.

  • If they aren't active players, they aren't going to care about some of those decently valued items, I love this game and don't want it to die out but jeez at least be a bit more equal about this shit

    :iris1::iris3::iris4::iris2:

  • You get an akashi card from doing the (artisan) quest, and at least some akashi cards per month. EXP books won't change anything for level 55s. The only thing that is more valuable there are skill ticket resets.

    Active players can farm more than 5 akashi cards per week. True, they would not care about these items as much if they were inactive, but if that's the case - then this is only fractionally rewarding a very miniscule amount of players who are leaving the game in the first place to come back and 'try' it again; these people aren't really more advantaged over active playing users anyways, since DZ gets more worthless, and you can farm 20x the amount of stuff you get from that pack in a month if you played the game. I don't really see an issue with the 'fairness' idea of having these items being equivalent in rewards for active playing users, considering you get redemption codes for these type of packs every month, and the housing rewards, and measle log-in rewards. Do I think you should get more rewards or incentives for playing the game, sure. However, this game is designed from bottom up to be atrocious for free playing users unless you come in with enormous amounts of time, which is pervasive in all MMOs with micro-transactions. 600 Grutin gold one transmitter or two anti destructs. Anyone can farm that equivalent in DZ in a day.

    The alternative business model is a subscription model; I would welcome that but whether it's feasible in a lack-of-content realm of games - probably not.

  • hmm actually this package for returning players is not new, they have this same thing on the the jp server along with a freebie package for new players, no one should really complain since this is already on the other versions of the games, its really normal for many games too.

  • Hmmm....

    Are these good items? - Useful. Pretty good stuffs.

    Are they worth offline for 1 month to get? - Maybe not.

    Returnees have advantages over people who play everyday? - I don't think so, even by comparing to people who only grab login items.

    Current login rewards sucks? - Absolutely.
