so since this game is on steam plus the website having its own client im curious if its still connected? i played in CBT using the websites beta client so im not sure if my toons would be there if i used steam ver dont wanna waste all the time downloading if they wont pretty much

No. They will be separate accounts. Unless if steam is more convenient just stick with the account you have.

Steam and website accounts are not linked at the moment. If you create an account on the website first and then launch the game on Steam, a new account will automatically be created. However, we are planning to offer a possibility to link and unlink your Steam and website accounts in the future.
