About Primal

  • So with the new content being most likely Primal I want to know some facts here.

So obviously Aurith gear is a must but thing is its hard to get decent gear from market n from even crafting. I got a complete aurith gear but its not that good.(i would say its trash thats how my luck been) So now im gonna ask is just equipping any aurith gear even if its utter trash is worth?

So ive watched some gameplay(1 year old  JP gameplay) n realise that most players have like roughly 40k hp much like GC want Crit resistance. I notice that plastica is being used a lot here seems like its a must have if you plan to kill the boss fast, note that they beat the raid in like 6 minutes. This gameplay didnt have advancements yet or the lvl 60 update so this was quite interesting for me since we are basically at that stage.

Now fast forward to recent gameplay like This and This with advancements n lvl 60 players still have roughly 43k HP or more and basically complete the raid roughly around 8-10 minutes. Ive seen some gameplay of a team that didnt use plastica at all came out in 9 minutes.

As a Jin Main im quite excited that I can counter some of the Primals atks. One thing that I want to know for those that played on Kr/Jp version, what are the drops in primal? what can we get thats worth the time for Primal?

I just want some clarification here also if anyone have tips and information for Primal please do tell.

With that said Thanks for looking at this cringy post :jin1:

With Trash gear you obviously won't die to primal as easily bc of the damage reduction bonus. But most people will still consider it a 'Carry' compared to others with good/godly gear. Honestly Get a good weapon, +7 it (+7 is the average req for primal) then just try focus on HP. Jewellery aren't 100% requirements but I like having them for Bonus damage. But of course at least with a strong weapon you can damage contribute. Players may also like to bring you along into parties with good Akasha Cards like Big Plastica which give heavy contribution to team DPS.

Currently running most gear with Crit Dmg + HP (Helm with crit % instead of HP)

Then Aurith's Fury +9 (Iris Hammerstol) With pretty decent stats, even if I can't get Crit% to roll onto it >.>
Then the optional full ring set for an extra 100% saurus damage

  • Primal will be nice content and then lvl 60 ;3

thanks for the reply I currently have 2 crit dmg gear helm n chest other stats are meh but its something to work with but unfortunately legs n shoulders are bad n i dont have HP on my gear. Ill keep trying to get but right now this the best I got. On jin i have 44k HP with the aurith gear equipped but with that dmg reduction I think I might pull it out. On the gameplay ive seen players ran Primal with 40k hp so I think its safe for now....

I also have Aurith 1 ring n 1 amulet i got from GC n they are actually decent so I might buy the rest or not lol.

My aurith weapon is +6 now with crit% armor break n Super armor break. Tried to +7 couple times and as usual failed miserably. Im f2p so this is considerably harder to get the stuff I need....

  • I've played on KR servers for roughly a month now and I've done Primal over a hundred times throughout my time there.

Yes, having full Aurith gear is a complete must in Primal. Even if it is utter trash, the defense reduction it provides against Primal is what makes it important. Ideally, you'd want at least 40k HP with your full Aurith set and have them all +4, which really isn't too hard to achieve. The difference between having trash Aurith gear versus having good ones is simply just being able to do more DPS. If your sole purpose of gearing for primal is just to be able to do Primal, then you do not need to focus on getting good rolls on your gear. Sure, going into Primal with HP rolls on every one of your set pieces is helpful in terms of surviving from Primal's attacks. But the only real danger to your ability to survive comes from whether or not your team has the knowledge of it's different mechanics and phases. Primal or its tentacles can use an AoE attack that can potentially kill everyone regardless of how good their gear is. I've seen people with 50k+ hp and +6 or higher set die because of this. The reality of it is that you really don't need good Aurith gear to do Primal and survive as long as you know what and when to avoid it's attacks and your team properly knows how to avoid triggering a wipe.

If you want to be more useful DPS-wise, then get good rolls. If you just want to do Primal and survive, then don't worry about it as long as you have 40k hp to help you tank a few hits should you ever make a mistake to not dodge. Whether or not you do a lot of DPS will mostly come from having a full accessory set and how good your GC weapon is.

Slightly off topic perhaps, but I feel people are falling into a trap of needing good Aurith armor pieces with perfect rolls. In my opinion, with how terrible NA's market is, it's a waste to invest in perfect Aurith gear considering it's sole purpose is only to be able to do Primal. It's a terrible set in almost every other regard, PvE or PvP, and will eventually just be replaced by the Primal gear you farm.

Outside of gear, akasha cards such as Big Plastica will play a huge role in clear speed during Primal. Of course, you never need to have cards like Big Plastica but it is one of the core akashas to take to Primal should anyone of your members have it. Other akashas that I'd recommend you must take if you have it are Rita and Mistral(Level 3 ofc).

As a Jin Main im quite excited that I can counter some of the Primals atks. One thing that I want to know for those that played on Kr/Jp version, what are the drops in primal? what can we get thats worth the time for Primal?

In KR, there's been a revamp of Primal that increased it's drop rate significantly. You can potentially get up to 7-9 WUCs per run although realistically you'll probably only get 1-2 per run. Primal also drops blueprints for classes to craft the Primal costume set and legendary gear will drop around an average of 1 every 3-5 runs. Of course, this is all just based on my own experience and your luck/experience may be different for you.

However, we may not be getting thee revamped version of Primal that increases drop rates. In that case, it will be very difficult to get much of anything from primal from what I've heard.

  • I've played on KR servers for roughly a month now and I've done Primal over a hundred times throughout my time there

Thanks for taking the time to type this information. Its really helpful that I dont have to farm GC as much anymore now that you confirmed that it is not absolutely necessary to get decent aurith gear. Imma still try to get 1 piece of gear with HP stat to be a little more secure....

Also can you give a Screenshot of the gear you get from primal?

  • Not sure what exactly you're looking for, but here are some example armor pieces that drop and their set bonus:

    778eb790fc.pngf1680ee276.png38ef0152e8.png

As you can see, despite the lacking set bonus, it is made up by the min and max of each roll being very high and identical to that of our current PvP gear. You can get a max of four line rolls so pray to RNG for four rolls should Primal ever drop a legendary. I wouldn't risk trying to energy convert a legendary with only 3 rolls.

I don't have all of the accessory pieces but here's one that I do have:

    54a8dd233c.png5cf217ad48.png

Although this ring only has 3 rolls, accessory can also have up to 4 rolls. The Japanese text on the ring is damage reduction versus bosses. The Japanese text in the set bonus is saying % Damage bonus versus bosses. For those interested in how Primal accessory fairs in PvP, do know that rings can roll for up to 17% critical resist each, for a total of 34% critical resist just from two rings alone. Also 300 accuracy bonus is a must have for PvP and for Alter of Void, which is the next biggest raid after Primal.

Finally, here's an example of a weapon that drops from Primal:

Again, the Japanese text is bonus damage versus bosses. Having up to 18% extra dmg to bosses from the weapon alone makes it one of the best rolls to have on your weapon.

  • Thanatos Finally someone who isn't a complete newbie on this forum, It's really not worth having above +7 Aurith as we will change it for the Primal set and it's just a waste of resources since Vicarious has better dps and anyways we will abandon both sets and I personally reccomend having Hidden megidon or Hidden skitter for stamina regen to dodge more often while for Dps if you don't have hidden big plastica or you are a class that doesn't utilize it properly (looking at you stella players) you can bring the grutin army (Hidden 900g grutin) or Hidden rita or of course mistral if you dont have anything at all

  • Props to Thanatos for giving a big advice.

TL;DR - You really don't need GOOD rolls on aurith set as it is totally waste investment, but though you need to have full +4 aurith set for damage reduction and HP if you wanna survive as long as you know what to do and prepare to learn some mechanics/dodge.
