Aaron: 2 seconds wonder

  • Hi there. Between all the hype for iris advancement, people still figuring out how to make her work the best and other threads, i see there is a lack of discussion about things there are already in the game, and are used to play the game (marketing isn't playing the game,i've already heard it too much on other forums).

So today i'm here to ask you guys whatever you think about what i think is an underrated 1-star akasha card: Aaron.

I've found it in a Soulsanctum page right at the start of Candus City and since i was still at the second week of playing (yes i do level-up slowly,i like it) i didn't know what were the "OP" cards and didn't know much of the few i already had,so i decided to use it since it felt like it would be useful. Arrived at the end of Grace City,it allowed me,which was still using a level 21+5 sword, to keep up with the damage that my IRL friends did with their Lilys that were using the highest level yellow scythe we found, and sometimes it made even complain them about me one-shotting entire rooms with just a tapped wind-break (yes i know,wind-break has high AF ratios, but was still a 21+5 sword at Cold Rain/Wolf Cry Manic levels and had no charges).

After Grace i started doing solo since my companions stopped playing and it allowed me to do almost everything solo with very little trouble: At around level 45 i finished my akasha set with what i am still using at the moment when i solo stuff:
-Hidden Blacktop God (very rarely used outside of rookie raids)
-Non Hidden Grutin Army (Used only at bosses)

-Hidden Shade (Used to be 1-star Amanda before i got this, which just allowed me to resist better against the few mobs i didn't one-shot)

    -Hidden Megiddon

    -Aaron

And just like the first time i obtained it,it procs almost istantly when i start attacking, allowing a 2-second maximum clear of every trash mob and more than half-bar (if not all of it) of all elite mobs with skills different than windbreak too.

I used it on Lily too. Now i have two low-level lilys, one at 26 for alt-farming which uses it and one at 34 for the event that doesn't have it because she needs the SF regen from Taifon. When i tried using the 34Lily with the same equip of the 26Lily on Breakout Ep4 Manic i felt sincerely slower and weaker, even though i had Die-phoon and quite a bit of level-stats more than the Lily who used the card.

Its only real downside is the 30s CD,but if you can clear in those 2 seconds it gives +1k% crit whatever you have in front of you i say it is balanced and would suggest it to whoever doesn't have good offensive Akashas.

So,after all my rambling, what do you think of the card? Did you know the card beforehand and if so,did your idea change? Would you suggest it as replacement or even core card?

    Have a good discussion:haru3:

  • Aaron may be useful when you are low level. As soon as you get over 30% crit, Aaron becomes useless. Shade's uptime overall is way better and with your high base crit you can reach 50~60~70% almost every 5,5s depending on it.

These are the baseline passive cards all classes can use:

Megiddon for Stamina regeneration and Shade for Crit.

If your class uses atk speed as base (Erwin, Stella, Haru post-advancement) or you want to make fast basic attacks to recover SF:

Atk speed given from Dark Gauntillus.

If your class doesn't use atk speed as base and you have SF problems or want to focus on unleashing skills with less basic attacks as possible:

SF regeneration from Grand Blaze Taifon.

If you don't have SF problems and you are soloing and you rely a lot on dodges:

Even more Stamina regeneration from Skitter.

The open slots are for actives.

If you are clearing trash content and want to do fast runs:

    Baalride and Worker Ex Machina.

And the list goes on. You will change actives and passives all the time depending on what you play and how your style is.

For example, If you don't need SF neither you need atk speed you can even play with three actives (Grutin Army, Rita T1 and Big Plastica). That one is widely used when soloing Primal. And the moment you know all the patterns and are used to it, you can even drop Megiddon and add something else like Catherine (not out yet) that gives you +17% dmg on bosses. You can even drop Shade if you reach astounding % levels of crit at some point with Primal equipment.

All in all, sometimes you will use only 1 active, others you will ending up with 4 actives unleashing hell. All depends on where you are. And you will end up saying your farewell to Aaron pretty soon. Or not, if you don't have anything better to add to your roster.

  • I was not searching for help on how to set my akashas (i Already use some cards you mentioned afterall.) but i have to say it: If someone who isn't aware of what are the best cards would read this mini-guide of yours, it would be extremely helpful to them ,so props for that.

The part i was most looking for is the first paragraph you wrote: opinions on where and when and on who Aaron would be a good card.

As you said: After 40-50% crit chance Aaron buff starts to get unnoticed and most likely wasted, since % isn't exact and is instead a dice roll that can allow to have the same result as having that 1k% crit chance if the player is lucky enough, and i noticed it mostly when running Ark and Steel Grave (Both with level 55 Haru and level 34 Lily, which both get to around 45% crit chance with Shade activated), but i still think that as long as i don't have enough fodder to level-up my Shade (or the luck to get the 1-star Shade,as most in my guild and in other guides i saw time ago suggested) Aaron is still worthy of a spot in some akasha sets (Especially low budget or low level ones, just like you said), being one of the best choices in terms of burst damage, sometimes even more than some actives recommended since it isn't based on a summon that if made badly can miss entirely but is instead based on the player's use of his skills, especially on Haru since she has no AoE nor damage problems.

Without going into the specific of what a player has,and leaving out Shade which is an obvious answer, what do you (not only Rossweisse but everyone who wants to reply) think would be other akasha cards that would allow to swap out Aaron from a low-budget set without losing the burst damage it gives,or converting it into more of a DPS type of damage? Im' mostly thinking passives, but if you have actives that have more generalized use than "use this if in this specific situation" they are surely welcome as answers.

    Give me your opinions people!

  • The little guide was only to give you a roughly idea of what you will swap Aaron later on.

Your characters will change Aaron for Dark Gauntillus (Haru post-advancement. I heard Lily revamped also uses atk speed now for some of her skills finishing faster, so watch it carefuly these news from now on), Lucy (20% probability that you gain +2100 crit damage for 7 seconds when using skills), Suzie (+900 crit dmg), Catherine (+17% dmg on bosses) or Lex (A successful attack has a 20% probability that you get +40% crit rate and +50% attack damage for 10 seconds (cooldown: 40 sec)). The last four come from special cubes tho. And unless they offer these in some events you won't lay a finger on them because the package that sells them is pure milking trash. There's not even a guaranteed chance of getting them even after spending 50€.

Aaron is a good low budget filler, but if you want to make dungeons even faster you should swap Aaron for Baalride + Worker Ex Machina. They are situational, they won't be used against bosses but that drawback gets mitigated making the dungeon clearing time faster.
