That was because the system itself was designed (and described) as "If you really need just a few points you can give us drawings of the game, even if you're not good at drawing anything, and we'll decide if we can give them out".
This here was A CONTEST, in which only a few chosen (which supposedly are good at drawing) get the prize. That's the difference, and that is why you see "hate" here and not there. There everyone can do it once whenever they need or feel like it, here it had a time limit and it was more than just a few in-game points who would add up to nothing if were to be paid in real money.
Also, you say that you will give mug and outfit to other people, but if i understood correctly that would be against the rules. Paragraph 2 number 6. I personally wouldn't care, i don't even know which one yours is, but they do it seems (but do they?)

Re-reading the thread, there is nowhere when they say "the best ones will be selected", they just say "Gameforge will select a total of 20 works from amongst all eligible entries based on their respective creativity and originality", so it may be that they selected that drawing due to its irony or something like that. This means that even if you all are upset that one of the winners was a "troll" or "baby-like" or whatever, Gameforge didn't do anything wrong, they weren't incoherent. It may not have been beautiful, but it certainly had someone behind it who had this "idea", and since these drawings are what they are, you can't really be sure saying "it's uncreative and unoriginal".
And for those saying, or at least thinking, that they chose it because it was the only one from Rucco, there are quite a few server missing on the list, first of all my Uriel in which i know someone ended up delivering some drawing which had a sun in it. Maybe it was too big? IDK.
I don't want to whiteknight or whatever, but this is it. Gameforge did what they told us would do. You can be upset, but they don't have any reason to change their mind unless they want to appeal (something they don't really do) or if they find someone actually copied or requested from someone else.

At the same time, you can tell about a person only after seeing a couple of messages, this is also quite strong, even by the standards of the Internet.
So, they changed the rules while event was running??? I was not sure if I read it wrong but on German-Forum there was not written "summer look", but "SoulWorker-Fan-Art" and so I did. I thought I didn't read exactly... After a while, after I did send them my art I read on English-Forum its "summer look" and I was confused. So I checked German-Forum and there was written "summer look" aswell... I'm STILL CONFUSED. Well.. I hope there will be more contest and then I will read better..

If it were up to me, this topic and the entire conversation attached to it would have been removed off the face of this forum for various reasons which Include but are not limited to; insulting and/or degrading users and their works.
It isn't appropriate for users to single out and attack other users on the forum for any reason. There are forum rules and etiquette to follow. If users have a problem with another user, their posted messages, or any of their works, The correct course of action would be to send a private message to Gameforge outlining their concerns and why they believe their concerns to be valid. Gameforge values user concerns and is more than likely to respond to respectful messages from it's users.
Congradulate the winners or send a private message to Gameforge with your concerns but do not single out and attack users on the forum. Demonstrate some level of maturity and respect when posting.
This topic is pretty sad in more than one way. On one hand, selected users are now being put on the spotlight for their work.
It's wrong to go and attack others on their work.
However the users did submit their work knowing it will be seen by everyone. So they should expect at least criticism coming their way.
Calling it a 10yr old drawing is insulting and is not proper criticism. But I don't think we really need to specify the issues with the winners. Some are alright. But several of them is bad.
And I do expect better winners. Which is why I didn't even bother trying as I expected like a real masterpiece to come up. Now that's my fault. But if this is the standard that Gameforge have, then I'm petty sure I could of won... Just saying...
I don't think I'm bad at all, in fact I think I can do quite well, but I just expected to see real professional-level artwork. And sadly the winners are not it.
Maybe my expectations are too high, but given how I'm pretty sure there is at least a thousand players from NA and EU... I severely doubt that none of them knew how to draw.
Will people be salty? Yes. Is it justified? Hell YES! I seriously doubt only 20 or so people manage to know what the theme was.
I'm certain any other submission would be likely better than the one by End... Seriously, even piece with the wrong theme is more satisfying than this.
If gameforge want to solve this issue, I suggest they be more transparent with their judgement. Show us all the submissions, tell us their criteria, and back up their decision on picking the ones they picked.
My favorite one is QueasyS and i think its the best one in the list, and deservingly so unless there's better ones out there.
Definitely submitting next time though.

Don't worry, you weren't crazy. They did infact change it to a soulworker summer theme, they originally had it as any fan art. But was changed half way through. I did a piece but didn't submit it bc after reading summer look change after finishing I honestly just gave up

So you're defending the fact that a well known troll on the forum won the contest with a drawing that would take anyone a little less than 5 minutes to draw and then said that everyone else's artwork was bad? As well as someone plagiarising someone else's work to win?
I'm not singling people out either, rather some people who have either cheated or made a mockery of the contest and as such I'm critiquing their actions, I also did congratulate the winners in my initial post. Calling people immature with no evidence to back it up is in itself, pretty immature just so you know.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with the ones you highlighted. The first one is probably a troll post. The 2nd is nice even if not original. But after the revelation that it is likely commissioned, it should not count.
The last one, I'd say it isn't winner quality IMO, but I don't even know what else was submitted. So maybe it is the best they can find that followed the summer theme. I didn't follow the competition so I wouldn't know.
Also when i said QueasyS, i meant this one. IMO it's the best one out of the winner's list. There's like 2-3 other I think was pretty good but this one is my personal favorite out of the list

Clearly the point of my previous message has eluded you. Your particular concerns should of been addressed between yourself and Gameforge. My message was posted simply to remind you that you are posting on a public forum and that you shouldn't post insults and accusations that can bring harm to other users. It's that simple. The next art contest should be: design an outfit plus hairstyle and we give said winner a nice soulworker figurine and forward it to Liongames. Of course, one can dream~

Mmm if Gameforge wanted to place some for comedic value, it would've been better to probably have 'honourable mentions' or something like that as a bonus. But as a competition its kinda unfair. I understand 100% that you enjoyed working on yours, but you still very much deserved spotlight for your work...

I aint an artist but im sure all of us here have drawn some stuff in our lives like our favorite tv characters, and some of us can draw nicely if we just put our focus into it.
BUT i gotta say some of the winners art are quite laughable but hey Sht happens... I can only assume many have not followed the theme but someone said that they changed the rules during the contest so if thats true that explains some of these winners. Regardless tho there are some art here that deserve the win which is good to see....
