The way I see it, this whole banning thing is just a diversionary tactic to push the blame to someone else (the players) whereas the real culprit is themselves (Gameforge) for releasing this buggy update to begin with and not removing the problem they caused by not doing a rollback.
The problem is the huge influx of money due to this update. Players already made billions selling things at inflated prices on the market. Those players and their billions will not be touched by this banning. Money already circulated throughout the game world. Only a rollback can fix this.
They say 20 hours is too long to do a rollback. But what they SHOULD be saying is that 20 hours of this bug causes too much damage to NOT do a rollback.
This problem is as damaging as any gold dupe bug.
We are aware of your worries for the situation at the moment, but we are trying our best to limit the impact as much as possible. As announced earlier, a rollback was not a possible option for this case.
The problem is the huge influx of money due to YOUR bug. Trying your best to limit the impact means nothing when it is clear that you CANNOT solve this problem without a rollback. Players already made billions selling things at inflated prices on the market. Those players and their billions will not be touched by this banning, Money already circulated throughout the game world. Only a rollback can fix this.
If you were really trying your best, then you would've done the rollback already.
Rolling back 20 hours is nothing in the context of an MMO where people play for YEARS. Nothing you said earlier indicates that a rollback is not a possible option, you simply chose not to do it.
PS. By "you", I'm referring to Gameforge, I know you're just the CM.
The whole 2 week banning thing does nothing to help solve the problem. The problem is the huge influx of money due to their bug. The only thing that would solve the problem is a rollback. But the longer they wait, the less likely it's gonna happen because the longer they wait the greater the impact a rollback would have on the player base. At this point I doubt they would do anything.
This company takes no responsibility for their mistakes. First they abandon an entire continent of players with the server merge by excluding NA from the merge. Even when it was made clear to them that the reason they had for excluding NA from the merge was false, they did nothing to correct the situation and left us to rot. Now they screw up with this bug and do nothing to fix the damage that was done. How does banning some players for 2 weeks fix the damage??
Players already made billions selling things at inflated prices on the market. Those players and their billions will not be touched by this banning, Money already circulated throughout the game world. Only a rollback can fix this.
I do not agree with a rollback. Some trusted players spent a lot of time to play while waiting the new patch. They do not deserve that. Go blame the abusers.
My understanding is that the new patch introduced this bug. So these "trusted players" would lose nothing since it would only be rolled back to just before the new patch.

To Soulworker Team : Regarding Server Merge and NA
From google : https://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/double_post.html
In online forums double posting is when a user posts the same message or slightly edited versions of the message more than once.
My 2 posts are 2 completely separate topics, the first being about frame rates in the game and the second post being about corporate behavior. Not only are they not the same message, they're not even remotely similar.
Not that I want to edit them again, but why close them? I now have a lock icon saying "post editing has been prohibited". Is editing someone's own post considered a bad thing? Using your mod powers to harass other players is not cool.
Hello FunStuff, I've re-enabled editing for your posts.
Although you have a point in that you were talking about two different subjects, the forum guidelines call that you should create one larger post addressing the multiple topics using the quotes feature.
Thanks,
Quality
That's not what people usually mean by double posting. If her problem is that I did not combine my 2 unrelated posts into one, then she should have said so. But there was still no reason to close/lock my posts to begin with, which is what I was objecting to.
I wasn't planning to re-edit those posts anyways, but I objected as a matter of principal. I don't like it when people misuse their powers like that.
Thanks for unlocking my posts.
cba to dig it up on phone and I think this whole off-topic farce should end, but let me just say threea the CM "double-posted" back in the feedback megathread by Socie, why don't you go give her a warning. It was around page 4 iirc.
Also the post lock thing is probably just a rule for moderators, no need to get so pissed about it. Say if you really were double-posting and after the fact edited to look like you didn't or deleted it, heck idk the logic behind it
There would be a time stamp on it showing that you edited it after the fact, so how would that help you?
And even if I did double post and I went back and edited it to get rid of the double posting, isn't that a good thing if double posting was considered bad? So why would you lock the posts??
If I wrote something offensive and she had to edit my post, I can see why she needs to lock the post to prevent me from adding back offensive material and undoing her work. But there was nothing wrong with what I wrote and she never edited my post, so there was no reason to lock it.
I just don't like it when people misuse their powers like this.
The only thing I agree with you on is that this is off-topic, so I'm gonna let this drop.

Ok I just logged in and noticed that I got 2 notifications that "AdictaAIFlash closed your post." When I look at my last 2 posts, it appears there is a lock symbol saying post editing has been prohibited. Why? Not that I want to go back to edit my old posts now but what does editing my post have to do with double posting. What forum rule did I break in those 2 posts?
In post #53, I was telling the person I was getting 60FPS. That was the first time I wrote that in this thread. How is that double posting?
In post #54, I was replying to someone about corporate behaviour, again for the first time in this thread. How is that double posting?
And why lock my post from being edited?? How is my editing my own post a bad thing? Am I missing something? What forum rule did I violate in either of those posts??
You don't understand how corporations work.
To make ANY change they first have to go with the feedback to proper person. That person has to (probably) make a meeting, at the meeting they have to discuss the problem, then if the problem is actually acknowledged it has to go to dev team, and so on.
For new info you have to wait at least a week (IMO).
Sadly bureaucracy makes everything slower.
I work for a large multinational corporation so I know how corporations work. If a corporation made a decision based on false info that negatively affects an entire continent (in this case NA), they would issue an apology and let their customers know they are making it their top priority to resolve the issue ASAP.
In this case, Gameforge excluded an entire continent of players from the server merge which negatively affects our gameplay. This decision was based on the false assumption that the increased ping will significantly affect NA players negatively. This assumption is simply false as I can barely tell any difference between playing NA or EU.
I am not expecting an apology from Gameforge, but I would expect something more than just "in case there is any new info to share about this topic in the future we will let you know." I expected more along the lines of "We are reassessing the effects of the increased ping and will let you know our results and decisions as soon as we complete our reassessment."
This is not something that takes weeks to assess. I suspect they didn't even bother logging into their own NA servers just to see for themselves if the increased ping actually affects their gameplay.
Athena, who left the SoulWorker forum and does not say goodbye to the community
Actually, she did.
And to be honest. The FPS are currently very low for many people on EU. Since the merge that is.
I'm not sure, if a merge with NA would make it better or even worse.
I'm on NA and I get 60 FPS when I log onto the EN Candus server. which is the exact same FPS I get on NA Tenebris (I capped my FPS to 60 via vsync).
Don't let that guy derail this thread. Please stay on topic. ![]()
Have you been speaking with the team with the info we have been giving you?
The main reason we were excluded from the merge is because you guys are concerned about the increased ping. Now that you know the increased ping actually has very little impact on our gameplay, there should be no reason not to merge NA with EU, right?
If there are any other reasons you can think of for not merging NA with EU, please let us know.
I bet the people who voted option 2 don't even play on NA.
^This.
I don't think this poll is a good idea cause it just gives griefers a chance to screw us up. We've seen this in my thread already where people who don't even play on our server and who doesn't even understand English make troll posts to try to screw us up,.
Ironically, it appears the OP here got banned while the guy who was obviously just trying to stir up trouble in my thread goes free.
I'm wondering if I'm next on the ban list, lol.
Hello everyone,
the physical location of the servers (EU-NA) is not the same: the EU server is located in Central Europe and there is a dedicated server for NA, which is East coast located. If it moved, this would mean that there will be an immediate consequence - much worse ping which would affect most of the NA users.
As I mentioned in my original post, I am on the west coast, the furthest away from EU and I do not have lag problems playing on the EU server. I barely notice any difference in gameplay. You are basing your decision on imaginary problems rather than real ones.
Have you guys actually done any testing to conclude that our game play is negatively affected (by the increased ping) to such a degree that warrants our exclusion from the merge? Or was it just an assumption? Was an entire region excluded from the merge and left to die because of an assumption?
What is a REAL problem is the inability to find groups due to low populations. You guys are basing your decisions on an imaginary problem that has little affect on our gameplay while ignoring a REAL problem that greatly affects our gameplay.
Feel free to delete this next part of my post if you feel it's necessary. But you can see youtube videos by MMOByte playing Soulworker on a FR based server and MMOByte is from Australia, much further away from EU than NA. Do you see them lagging? (You guys should know MMOByte cause you guys paid/sponsored them to do a video for Guardians of Ember.) The problem you speak of is a non-issue for this game.
Since the announcement of the server merge details by threea on Jul 24, concerns have been raised by the community about NA being left out in the cold and excluded from the merge.
Two threads in particular were made focusing on this issue :
The first asked for the option for players to move their account to EU.
The second asked for the option for char transfer to EU.
Both threads had tagged threea, but neither has been answered or replied to. I notice threea has been MIA from the forums since Jul 24 and Celes appears to have taken over the announcements, which is why I have tagged both of you this time in case threea may be on vacation or reassigned.
Some sort of reply would be nice. In particular, what was the reason for excluding NA from the server merge? I am on west coast (furthest away from EU in NA) and have no problem playing on an EU server, so lag is not really an issue. Even if it was, you can still give us the option to move as suggested by the 2 threads I've linked.
Please don't stay silent on this issue. Speak with us.

Mmmm..
NA server if come in EU pinging over 130/140 (normally) so they prefer let you play with less than 30+ ping.
It doesn't take a genius to figure it out
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that ping is a non-issue. I'm on the west coast and have no problem playing on EN. MMOBYTE (the youtubers who focus on MMOs) are from Australia (much further away from EU) and play on the server that shall not be named in FR and you can easily see that lag is not a problem for them in their videos.
For NA players, it's more like disappointment level. There's nothing to get excited about since we are completely excluded from the merge.
In spite of all the concerns expressed since last week, they're going on with their business like we didn't exist. Not even one single reply or acknowledgement of our concerns.
Totally agree with OP.
We should be at least offered a chance to move our characters to EN If the player does not mind the delay.
^This. How about it threea ?
-Old Akasha transmitters replaced with the new ones for Grutin Shop and District Rewards + Completion time reduced
So if I'm reading this right, we should be holding onto our old akasha transmitters until they add this so that we can exchange them for the new akasha transmitters, right?
This game suffers due to lack of content / update and when something "decent" arrives, it arrives (even with delay) not even 1/4 of what we should have,
From your post, I assume we got a nerfed version of the akasha revamp? Can you outline what is different between our version of the akasha revamp vs KR's version?
