Even if the german servers alive you have to expect that the game 'dies' after a certain time. You can expect that the english community will exist, in this case, way longer than the german one.
That's what players were saying about Black Desert Online, but the game never died. And when they released it on Steam, it attracted so many players, we had massive lags for like 2 month, and the lags never fully went away, it keep on lagging even today because of the massive population, and the publisher decision to only have 1 Server.
Steam can surprisingly bring in a lot of players.
If players give in to panic, and all start rolling on Candus - it will be a lag fest for sure.
And Candus will not be an English community but an international one, with over 20 languages.
