Tried several times, but cannot get past the second area within this instance; it's the area with the terminal that damages all the enemies there. No matter what I do the big metal gate at the other end will not open. You can still kill all the enemies inside that final little room, using ranged attacks through the gate, and the portal will activate but can't get to it.
Edit: Done some more testing with another character that had already passed this point in the story, and it's the exact same thing when running on Normal, but it works fine on Hard. Not of much help since progression requires you finish it on normal first time, but still; more info.
