The ban should be done, cause there was actually abusing by players, but there is a but if you wanna do a ban wave atleast do a rollback with it for solve totally the issue, people will get punished (for your mistake in first place, I remember that threea said there will be no more bugs on patch notes but we got this bug, stella is broken and problems with run in city with some Chara) isn't not only fault of your players but also from your side because you really don't test nothing got patch translate and slap in it. But yeah the click and sell was done by our players so the ban is actually right, but there is always a but now the ones that played smart won :). As already said Keita there are back side effect, so rollback was needed. So yeah that's all
I actually disagree with the ban. This wasn't a typical duplication glitch. This was an item that Gameforge allowed into the game which was valued more than you could buy it for at Xivus. It was a new item so a lot of people noticed it and considering it was a new item Gameforge should have checked it out in bug testing before the patch.
Remember this patch was delayed extra long so that there would be no issues? Cuz I do.
Anyway many people began to profit off of buying and selling that item in a loop. They also spread it all over social media including the new Soulworker discord. This lead many others to do the same thing as well. "Hey this is a good way to make money try it!!!" etc. Trade loops are often common in games, though to be fair there is usually more work involved. Either way, this is Gameforge's fault, and instead of rolling back all the damage that was done, they did nothing to actually fix the fallout and banned players for taking what was essentially bait dangled right in their face.
I spent all day leveling a Chii to 55 yesterday and even I am advocating for a rollback because of the damage this exploit has caused. Banning people just made it worse now because of the sheer number of people affected, mostly older players, who may never come back at this point. 2 weeks away from an MMO is a long time and they're probably just going to move to the forbidden server out of sheer spite to Gameforge. A lot of us were on the fence already.
Servers should be rolled back and bans lifted. A good compromise would be to rollback to around noon US eastern time which was a few hours after servers opened. This way many would still have the Chiis they created, just not quite as far along but it's well before the exploit had caused any damage.
