Sunk cost fallacy? Many people were soooooo hyped and emotionally invested in this game.
Leveling in an MMO is about 30% of the content. I didn't read it but I don't agree your "thesis" on the topic. It's something that is one-and-done, unless you're like me who levels multiple classes/characters. four-and-done. The goal of leveling is to get the to endgame this WON'T kill a game, because regardless of how "grindy" an MMO is, people will still aim to get to the endgame, because that's what it's about. Currently EXP IS low and the rates are not final and we will see adjustments and more quests to help us level. This is also an open beta release for the NA version. The client we're using isn't even fully updated to current yet.

And one more thing. Yes KR developed the game and JP's publisher requested changes to cater the game to their audience. But this is actually a good thing and the mark of a good publisher. Now if GameForge would listen to our concerns and cater to us, then we're all good.
They aren't listening to us about adding different region voice packs; many people want the JP voices, and the only way to get it is via copying the files over from that version, which GF doesn't want you doing for some asinine reason (waah against ToS to modify files for non-cheating stuff)
Whoah now, using the JP voices isn't because file modification is against the ToS (well it is, but I digress), they are literally legally unable to use the JP voices period without shilling out a ton of money for Copyright reasons. Gameforge does not own the JP voices, heck, LionGames doesn't own the JP voices. The only one legally able to use the JP voices is the JP server. It'd be the same if we had a dub (god forbid). KR and JP would be legally unable to use the English voices (not that anyone would ever want to LUL)
I was actually surprised we didn't get English voice over in this game. Other foreign MMOs released in NA/EU I played has English voice over ... the publisher usually does both text translations and voice over as part of their localization work. JP's publisher provided voice overs for their region in spite of having a much smaller playerbase and charging much less on their cash shop, so I see no reason for GameForge to not provide voice overs for our version.
It's a money grab - what did y'all expect? (I still go into Rocco Town and leave Rucco Town).
That fact the game is still in Beta, but it and the cash ship were shoved out the door with the bare minimum of effort tells you everything you need to know about the people publishing this game.
But, OP, the question is, how many of the non-JP players can actually speak JP? Fortunately, this game doesn't really require strategy to kill bosses or coordination like BnS, WoW, etc. so you can go a long time, or forever, without saying a single word to another human being. But the point of MMORPGs is the social part, the human interaction, without which there's no point.
There are a ton of English speaking players on the JP servers. Where do you think most of us were playing before this English version came out? lol
I've already returned to the JP servers - it's so much better.
But I will keep this version installed for translation purposes for items - it is handy for that at least.

Honestly, give GameForge and their respective Soulworker team a chance to respond to feedback and fix things.
They'd probably have to do a FF14 at this point, pull it all down, and redo everything.

The quest is in my quest journal, and on the map it shows as a quest. But it also says hidden, and when I run the dungeon it doesn't complete.
Is it a random chance to happen or drop an items for the quest?

Where are they supposed to even transfer an account to? There is no publisher for the OCE region otherwise they wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. thinkingface
LATAM and SEA are supposed to be getting a publisher, which is why they got blocked. But the point is, they won't do an account transfer. I'm sure if they did most would be satisfied.
Mexico is safe babyyyyyyyyyyyy so I would say South America instead of LATAM, but yeah I dont think theyll do an account transfer because its beta and there isnt "much" to lose (nor real life money)
