Because money

Also there are cuter costumes we have yet to get, so might as well wait for the perfect one before I burn my life savings.
I laughed harder than I needed to from this.

Oh boy one of those again...
Alright. After "wasting" quite a while reading this long af post. I must ask you some things. Also do you know what an OPEN BETA is? Do you except the servers to run smoothly? Also the open beta is different from close beta, where you must get an invitation or register by time to enter on server... In close beta there is a limited playerbase to test the game, there is no big stress on server, so the lag or the chance for server failure is low... But in open beta the playerbase is "unknown" for a period of time and the chance of lag and server failure are big... since the server are under stress constantly.. so bear this in mind!
Yes I do, Do you? Open beta is the final phase of testing. When it's a few minor bugs as well as stress test remain, where the publishers push their servers to the limits to see how stable/unstable their servers are currently and make changes according to that.
What we got was a game that didn't went through even the most simplest tests or polishing. I will get to that after another quoteNow, let's talk about bugs and region translation!
Some player like the region translation(Kain>Kairon I realy like the name), and some... let's just not ask.. "I mean Luke III? Seriously? If I didn't read the dialogue when I reach Candus City or to know his name from KR and JP version, I could say that he is from the 3rd generation of scientists from his family! I mean we learn some history here??? Are we in highschool? Aham... I know that you need money to hire translators... but please... you can do better
Names are like honestly whatever. Considering it's GameForge and they're treating everybody like a snowflake when it comes to offending them, sometimes they're forced to change things regarding the past events. Victor also got a name change in other GameForge game called Elsword.
As for the other translations, Today's patch fixed some of the Korean messages such as login, and inverted mouse in the options. Haven't seen too much difference yet.
However."If Victory HP Recovery" = HP drain on kill
"Armor Break" = Defence ignore
The left is what we have currently. The right is what it should actually be. I do hope with time they will polish it.
Overall i Agree with most of the points said regarding translations.Bots, money sellers and scammers!
Have you ever found a bot, money seller or scammers in other games? If you did, what did you do? Sadly there is no report option in the game... hope they will add this later... I hope. Keep in mind the only thing you must do is to not encourage them, because the economy of the game can suffer, which can result in the "dead" of the game or a stagnate perioud! For the moment take a picture of the bot, money seller or scammers and report them to support!
Just Shows that a game is doing well. However if not taken action against. Ripperonies.
The only P2W thing in this gamea are... cosmetics.. the god damn things that make us "beautiful" and make some poeple jealous,
First learn what p2w is and how the game works...
Boy. You stepped into the wrong neighborhood.
'Scuse me? Only 1-2%?
I don't see how this is only 1-2% stronger. With the higher values we start getting endgame this is actually ridiculous.
There is no point complaining about EXP gain things since pretty much any MMO these days have it.
As for the SoulCoin. it is relatively unfair when one country has to pay double compared to the other one.
Canadians need to pay ~280 CAD in order to get what Norwegians get for 999KR. I'll leave it up to you to do the conversion math and see how ridiculous that is.
Item Prices. Some of them are a little bit too much. But relatively close to what most MMO's have these days.
I kind of agree with the rest of the things mentioned unless I missed something.
Except those bonuses are % and since % bonuses are scaling from your base stats without items, indeed, its only 1-2% diffrence, with the expetion being stamina
Attack speed and Movement speed are true values.

I had me quite a laugh that I had to reply to this thread.

I'm actually very depressed about the debut of the cash shop. First and foremost, I can understand the differences in the countries and how their tax, currencies, as well as wages are. However, with this debut of the cash shop, to have basically every single country receive different amounts of SoulCash for 1 price tag is stupid. It's by no means a deal. This is just about as bad as trying to throttle internet speeds here in NA.
I actually liked SoulWorker. It's a good game and it still has a great future in store for it, but I'm actually ending the game here. I refuse to stare at this mockery called a cash shop. Massive slap in the face for those that sat patiently waiting for the games release. The absolute joke of a reply from the Community manager is throwing me way over the edge. This idiotic scam is intentional? What the hell?
You could have done so many different things instead of this garbage of a release. I fear that this game, once having 7 thousand players daily when the servers were working, and when they went down-people anxiously waiting for its return-having a massive drop in numbers. I, For one, and contributing to the loss of playerbase. This is absurd. I could play the game without having to spend a dime, but whats the point if you like the game so much and you want to benefit the growth of the game by donating a few dollars here and there to show your gratitude towards a well done video game? I can't believe that the discrepancy between the SoulCash acquired between countries is ridiculously out of wack.
I enjoyed the game while it lasted, and I'm certainly not the only one that is quitting this early. I'll be checking every now and then to see what's up with the current updates or if anything at all changed from the amount of SoulCash you can acquire for your country. I mean hell at this point it feels like I need to figure out a way to transfer my hard earned cash into a different currency from a country that gives you the biggest bang for your buck in order to purchase anything from this blasted cash shop. I'd rather not do that because there are fees for that kind of stuff.
Please Gameforge, you gotta do something about this. This is absurd and quite frankly you've already scared off plenty with this debut of a scam.
With that, I'm no longer a player of SoulWorker. I don't think you'll find me back on the forums for quite some time. I'll be checking news and updates every now and then to see if anything was changed to benefit the consumer. You guys at Gameforge are a service, and while you guys can cut off that service at any time, consumers shouldn't feel like it's necessity to spend double that of others just to get the same amount.

Not sure why people are freaking out. We get it, you don’t have money, or a job. You’re in school, whatever. You don’t know how to make profits. You want things handed to you. (But even then that’s not enough since they are still giving you a free 130 fatigue a day when they don’t have to). All of that doesn’t matter for all of you who will go bankrupt over 30 dollars.
Because people like me will just make a profit off of you by selling cash items in the marketplace. So farm up that gold little kids so you can save up for a shiny new costume.
it's not even about the fact that we have money or not, don't get me wrong, I could drop easily 2k$ usd on this game but I decide not to since it's obviously not worth to do so. The fact is that it's way more overpriced than on other servers.. just compare NA and EU, you get more from spending less on EU. Just like in jp you wouldn't even have to spend any money to get a costume with x3 slots in it... look at the price of implant slots too, even if you were trying to be f2p, you'd end up either having an excessive grinding to get a single costume with x3 slots or buy implant slots from other players, which also leads to another excessive grinding.. this kind of grind isn't even needed in jp or kr, but again, we are threated differently.
also, I don't mind if they don't give it out to us easily, but at least have the prices matches jp.
sorry not so sorry, people don't want to drop 35/40$ usd (whichever it is) for a virtual costume that doesn't even give extra stats in the end of the day.. you actually have to spend dzenai/$ for those extra stats aka brooches. Why do you people keep comparing NA to EU, EU to JP, JP to Zimbabwe?
You realize these regions have different economies, different exchange rates, different taxes, different laws right? We don’t all live on the same continent or abide by the same rules.
Look at NA as NA. That’s all. As you said, some people don’t want to pay (or can’t afford to pay) 25 for some hair. Then don’t.
I highly doubt GF just pulled these price points out of their ass at a staff meeting. I’m sure SOME research went into their decision making. If the game dies then we can all move to the Japanese server where apparently it’s 200 times better yet we play here.
you sure about that on that last paragraph? cuz I wouldn't be surprised if they did pull numbers that's convenient for them.
I mean, they didn't even bother going through a CBT even when they pushed the release so much and also mentioned "wipe" in the past just for OBT. Granted that's another issue, but can you really say gameforge is handling this game greatly so far?
#notrust
I never said GF is looking out for their players instead of their wallet, I said they did research. Research as in these price points are what they came up with to maximize profit. This isn’t their first game they’ve published, they have data. You think people didn’t complain about TERA prices? At the end of the day they know that they will be making a profit from people like me. You can call us idiots for doing what we want with our earned money if that make any of you feel better, but it won’t change a thing. They are a business and they want to make a profit.
If they did any research whatsoever, then they could have given everybody the same amount of Soulcash for the price varying depending on country. Not Hey you live in NA? You only get half of what everyone else gets for the same price! \o/

I agree with the points you make. But let me add the icing on a cake.

Here you see how much Canadian pays/gets for 140 CAD
Here is how much I need to pay and how much I get.
But here comes the extremely juicy part.

NA players are getting literally scammed by cashing on this game.
I understand that GameForge is an European company but, why, just why?
EDIT: Why are you choking the game right off the bat? Considering the other games such as Closers or Kritika during their launch never had such great of a success and only wished for such huge playerabse right off the bat. But Instead you're choosing to kill the game by poor decisions such as these. Which should be obvious that these won't be taken positively.
lmao those inconsistencies. What the hell is this?

I found this piece of armor that gives +25% Max HP, but was still less gain than flat values.
Also anybody want to help me try to figure out why 3% defense is 2 defense? when your overall defense value is like 2800?
Here's my defense without the title.

Here's my Defense with the title.

?????
it increases +3.6% defense of your BASE defense without any equipment, titles or other bonuses.
your BASE defense at level 55 is between 240 and 345, depending on the class you're playing right now (omitted Jin because he's not available yet).
So you can see that +3.6% of 240 defense would be about +8 defense. Since you only gained +4 defense, then your level is probably around 30.
Read the guides, seriously, it's all explained there. You can even see tables of all stats in those guides.
I know reading is hard, but it's an ability that will make your WHOLE life that much easier, not only in online games.
So you decide to insult me without knowing me. Why don't you link the "guide" you speak of? Or is that too hard for you?

Hi I'm Pony. I skip, yah. Sukkarak is my fav.
-
These values are based on your base values. So anything that gives you percent max hp gives you extra hp equal to the percent of your hp when you have no items equipped. Same for defense and other such values.
For example, say you have 8k base hp, an armor that gives you 4k and another piece that gives you +25%. You're getting 2k from that +25% either way, whether or not the 4k is equipped.
That would be the case if you could see any marginal gain from it.
???
Also still doesn't explain the defense stuff.

Forget your teammates, DPS and only drop heals for yourself when you need them /s
I saw an opportunity and I seized it. -

In addition to what everyone else says, the heal isn't much at lower levels because you probably won't have much stacked crit. If you're constantly dying at bosses, the heal from grim countdown won't help much at all.
Stella's are extremely helpful w/ their heals and also, keep watch on the boss's attack patterns and don't get hit. That's your best bet at not dying.
Yeah it's not like grim gives you a free pass to be careless.
It's a pretty decent heal and sustain for bad situations
but not a "I won't need Stella anymore" skill
You do not need Stella if you don't get hit.
Memes aside, It's useful in solo runs. Very useful. After you get another point into Absorb, you get 45% heal from the damage. That's a decent chunk.Raids are not going to be as simple as "you dont need a Stella if you are good enough"
But for now yes, true. Leveling up you don't really need one.The Joke
Your head.

Still playing in Dragon Nest along with SoulWorker. Why not having both?

because Dragon nest is too Pay to win for me. My wallet still weeping from the 3 years that I did play.
Played for more that 5 years and didn't spend anything apart from buying an outfit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The biggest problem in DN tho is classes discrimination. Economics sucks on the EU server, however I never really felt a need to pay, maybe just too much grinding to get gold for gears, lol.
And remember that Soulworker is published by gameforge...
Ever since DN left Nexon, the classes have become more free to party with. All of them do decent amount of damage now. When it was with Nexon, the class discrimination was horrible.
That's not really Nexon's fault. That is purely on Devs. Even when the Nexon was still the publisher, the CN version of DN still had massive class discrimination.
I played DN since released and I stopped a little while ago because it just got too boring.
I say Nexon because at that very time of when Nexon was the publisher, the class balance was out of wack. I too played DN since release, took a bit of a break when 60 cap was around, then came back for 70 cap. I used to play Blade Dancer, Ice witch and Physician exclusively in that order. When Nexon was discontinuing their service for Dragon Nest, a lot of the class issues became clear cut and a large portion of them got nerfed to the ground from their original playstyle. Everybody now just deals damage. Support classes like Ice Witch, Dancer, and Inquisitor all received a massive nerf. Granted I haven't really played in a while due to me quitting the game some time ago, but I played when Silver Hunter came out. That was shortly after Nexon discontinued their service for the game.

I am using it quite frequently and It's very useful even if you don't crit. It helps sustain yourself incase you get memed and get hit while dodging.
