They wouldn't do a wipe just for fun, to wipe there'd be to have a major GAME-breaking(emphasis on game, server crash/lag doesnt matter, it just make playing harder) exploit that a majority of players would use to gain a major advantage over others, for example people being able to redeem the same daily login reward over a thousands time and about the steam cash shop, as a native client user I don't see this as an exploit, it's not like they're using something that's not supposed to be there, it's just that it's bugged into a non-working state on native and in the end it just make lvling faster, it doesn't break the economy or the game in any way.
The reason for the 'maybe' is exactly in case something like that happens, still better than the way aeria handles some of their open betas, 'Exploit comes up: Let's ban half the community randomly to show that we're doing something, even if we're doing it wrong even if it means banning innocent people and letting some actual abusers roam and break the economy'I agree they need to assess the situation, but the NA problem with Cash shop could be pivotal to the wipe
